On the sun-drenched Monday of July 8th, a diverse and enthusiastic group of thirty-four international students embarked on an exhilarating journey to the picturesque Science Island, nestled gracefully in the lush landscape of Hefei, the vibrant capital city of Anhui Province in China. This island, enveloped by a serene atmosphere and brimming with cutting-edge scientific research, serves as the majestic base for the esteemed Institute of Plasma Physics, a renowned institution that forms an indispensable part of the prestigious Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The primary objective of their visit was to indulge in a comprehensive and immersive one-month summer camp program, tailored to provide them with an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of plasma physics and its myriad applications. From theoretical lectures to hands-on experiments, this summer camp aimed to foster a deep understanding and ignite a passion for this complex yet captivating field among the participating students.

As they arrived at the Institute of Plasma Physics, the students were warmly greeted by academician Jiangang LI, a renowned expert in his field, whose presence added an extra layer of significance to this important day. With his encouraging words and insightful insights, he welcomed the students to this intellectual sanctuary, inspiring them to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in their upcoming scientific journey.

Viktor Tepikin, a master's student from Moscow Power Engineering Institute, delivered a speech on behalf of all participants. He thanked the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for allowing him to participate in scientific research and providing a Chinese cultural program.

“The Institute of Plasma Physics is a global leader in controlled fusion and plasma physics. The summer camp offers a unique chance to engage in cutting-edge research with top experts using state-of-the-art equipment. World records like plasma confinement over 1000 seconds and H-mode plasma discharge lasting 400 seconds have been achieved here. The innovative CRAFT and BEST machines under development are unparalleled globally. Students will gain valuable knowledge, skills, and experience in plasma studies. They eagerly anticipate embarking on this scientific journey at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. We hope our collaboration with this esteemed university transcends the summer school.”- Viktor sad.

The Institute is renowned globally for its leadership in controlled fusion and plasma physics. The summer camp offers a unique chance to collaborate with top experts on world-class equipment, including the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), renowned for its plasma confinement records. The innovative CRAFT and BEST machines under development are unparalleled worldwide.

This program aims to enrich students' knowledge, skills, and experience in plasma physics. The journey begins at the Institute, fostering a lasting relationship beyond the summer camp.

During the camp, students gained exclusive access to EAST, the "Chinese Artificial Sun." They actively participated in experiments, lectures, and structured activities, enhancing their understanding of this cutting-edge field.
