To all departments and outstanding doctoral graduates in China and abroad:
To attract and retain outstanding young talent in the field of fusion, and to deepen the cooperation between the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “ASIPP”) and the ITER Organization (IO), both parties will jointly conduct postdoctoral training, with postdoctoral researchers expected to carry out research and exchanges at both ASIPP and IO. Applications are now invited from outstanding doctoral graduates worldwide.
I. Eligibility Requirements
1. The program is open to outstanding doctoral graduates worldwide. Applicants should generally be no more than 35 years old and should have obtained a doctoral degree, or have passed the doctoral dissertation defense with the degree pending. Applicants with degrees obtained outside the Chinese mainland must provide certification issued by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.
2. Applicants' academic backgrounds should cover the research fields of ASIPP, and their research directions must match the relevant positions. Please refer to Attachment 2 for position details.
3. Candidates to be admitted must first complete the ASIPP postdoctoral entry procedures and sign an employment contract, after which they will be assigned by ASIPP to the IO in a unified manner.
4. Chinese postdoctoral fellows are expected to spend approximately 30% of their working time at ASIPP and approximately 70% at IO; foreign postdoctoral fellows are expected to spend approximately 50% of their working time at each institution.
5. A pre-tax annual compensation package of approximately RMB 470,000 will be provided, including insurance, one annual round-trip travel allowance between the two workplaces, overseas allowance, and other related expenses.
6. Postdoctoral fellows shall comply with the rules and regulations of both parties, be subject to dual management, and complete evaluations, research progress reports, and other required tasks.
