Installation of All Equipments in EAST Poloidal Field Power Supply Finished

After the installation of  the last set of capacitors in the morning of May 11th, the installation of the whole equipments in the EAST poloidal field power supply, which last one and a half year, has finished. The places for installation, with the area of  about 2400 square meters and the weight of  more than 200 tons,  were the third floor of the frame building and the third floor of the 8-1 experimental hall made by steel.

From May 30th last year, all the staff in power supply section of technical center  went into hard work. Starting from the installation of 13 high-voltage power supply, they continued the installation of 14 transformers, 24 rectifiers, 24 reactors, 12 switches of crystal brake tube, large-sized resistances, capacitors, inductances, chargers, 12 bombing switches, 24 quick switches, 12 resistances of parallel  connection, of which the most difficult ones are the installation of 2 transformers of 24 tons and 10 transformers of 12 tons, and the installation of the rectifiers of 2.5 tons. All these were made by four jacks and tens of rolling bars. Undoubtedly, it is the wisdom of the staff that made the success. (Wang Chuang & Shi Lin report.)
