The first discharge of HT-7 physical experiments in 2005 spring has been obtained on April 9th.

From March of 2005  the experiments of the HT-7 superconducting tokamak has begun. Firstly, the vacuum group entered the experimental flat one month ahead of the experiment time. Then, low temperature group, wave-heating group, power supply group, diagnose group, etc, entered. A series of  reports about  plasma physics and nuclear fusion had been held from March 31th.

As we all know, the system of HT-7 superconducting tokamak experiments includes the equipments relating to high temperature plasma physics and nuclear fusion, such as the equipments of  supercondcting coil, low temperature, power supply, vacuum, wave-heating, wave-driving, diagnose, computational control, data-gathering,etc. On the one hand, how to make all these equipment working harmoniously is  important. On the other hand, ASIPP is a fundamental institute for Mega-Science Project. It is significant for ASIPP to train intellectuals in these field. The sixth division of ASIPP became  an indispensable part for these two tasks.

Professor Li Jiangang, Director of ASIPP made two speeches about the interaction between plasma and  wall. Many professors, such as Kuang Guangli, Zhang Xiaodong, Wan Baonian, Luo Jiarogn, Wang Shaojie, Fu Peng, etc.all made various speeches according to their own research areas.  Professor Manfred Thumm from Pulse Power Supply and Microwave Institute of German and Professor Kohnosuke Sato from Applied Mechanics Institute of Kyushu University in Japan, who are visiting ASIPP, made speeches, too. Undoubtedly, all the speeches would help the HT--7 experiments achieve a lot in spring.  (Liu Zhimin & Shi Lin report.)
