With the effort of the team of electric machines, the reconstruction of low and high voltage switchboard room designed by Hefei Institutes of Physics Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences finished assembly and testing on Sep.19.

The old low and high voltage switchboard room was first built at the beginning of 1980s. It supply power for four DC pulsed electrical generator, 6000 V three-direction asynchronous electromotor, the superconducting laboratory, and the transformer substation, which plays an important role in ASIPP. However, because the apparatus is old-fashioned, and its components are hard to change, it is difficult to meet the requirement of the scientific research.

On September 25th, new low and high switchboard room was run into use and it provide electric source for EAST poloidal superconducting magnets coil experiments successfully. In this experiment, the high steady current provided by the DC pulsed electrical generator reaches 20 KA, which is the highest in all the past experiments.  (Xu Liuwei and Shi Lin report.)
