HT-7 Superconducting Tokamak
count: [2012-05-15]

HT-7 Superconducting Tokamak is the second-largest operating device in the world before EAST. After a series of improvements since its operation in 1995, HT-7 overall capabilities and operation performance have been greatly enhanced, significant progress has been constantly made, and a wealth of good or unique results have been obtained. HT-7 is a fairly mature and reliable device well-equipped with experiment and measurement means, which enable us to carry out steady-state physics and technology research under the long pulse condition, such as plasma wall interaction, plasma control, plasma relaxation evolution, etc. and to conduct advanced physics research related to fusion reactor like stability, transportation, advanced operational mode with the high power density. HT-7 is helpful to develop the immature yet necessary materials and technologies for EAST future and to do some preliminary physics and engineer technology research for EAST.
