From October 10th to 12th, Professor Alain Becoulet, the Chief Scientist of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, visited the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) for the purpose of academic exchanges.
During his visit, Alain Becoulet delivered a specialized lecture titled "The Latest Progress of the ITER Project." The lecture drew an attendance of over a hundred participants, who actively engaged in discussions regarding the ITER project's current advancements, scientific objectives, technological hurdles, and future research orientations.
SONG Yuntao, the Director of ASIPP, extended a cordial welcome to Professor Becoulet and expressed optimism for deepening cooperation and exchanges in the field of nuclear fusion research. He emphasized the shared vision of advancing fusion energy development.
The in-depth discussions covered technical collaboration, exploration of future collaboration plans, joint experiments with the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), and initiatives for talent exchange.
