Professor Rod Boswell from Australian National University visited ASIPP

At the invitation of Prof. LUO Guangnan, head of Fusion Reactor Material Science & Technology Division, Emeritus Professor Rod Boswell from Australian National University (ANU) visited Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) on 08 November 2019.

During the visit, Prof. Boswell gave a talk titled “Non-local generation of plasma in a magnetic nozzle”, to introduce the recent findings of radio frequency discharge in ANU and to discuss about helicon plasma discharge. Young scientists and graduate students in related research areas from ASIPP, University of Science and Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Chinese Academy of Space Technology joined the discussions.

Before the talk, Prof. Boswell toured in the Helicon Plasma Physics and Application Laboratory and the control room of EAST tokamak. (CHANG Lei reports)
