XIE Yi, 24-year old master student of the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP), published a review article evaluating four types of materials for uranium-contaminated water treatment and environmental remediation in Journal Progress in Materials Science, one of the top review journals in materials science research with an Impact Factor 23.75.

In the review, XIE summarizes the cutting-edge progress on the study of four emerging materials, i.e, inorganic, organic, carbon family and porous framework materials in aqueous solution to the uranium enrichment while disposing the uranium-contaminated water. She also discussed the existing drawbacks of these materials and analyzed their application perspectives in the future.

In the year 2018, 19 young ASIPP students published 20 articles in TOP journals. And that number is expected to increase this year. (WANG Ying reports)
