15th ITPA-IOS TG Meeting Held at ASIPP

The 15^th International Tokamak Physics Activity (ITPA) -Integrated Operation Scenarios (IOS) Topical Group (TG) Meeting, chaired by Dr. Timothy Luce, GA and Prof. Xian-zu Gong, ASIPP, was successfully held from 12^th October to 15^th October, 2015. It is the first time the ISO group came to ASIPP. 

Totally 49 participants attended this meeting, including 24 foreign researchers from ITER, GA, IPP, PPPL and MIT, and 5 Chinese researchers from SWIP and HUST. 

With the purpose to provide physics basis for ITER design and to address remaining uncertainties in the physics related to improvement of integrated operation scenarios, participants working at ITER, JET, DIII-D, AUG, EAST, C-Mod, KSTAR and TCV reported their recent experimental and modeling working results and actively discussed meaningful and feasible joint experiments for the coming year. 

ASIPP director, Prof. Wan, made a brief speech to welcome all the participants and expressed the will to develop further international collaboration.  

At the end of this meeting, the chair of ISO group, Dr. Timothy Luce, highly praised the well organization and hardworking of local organizer. (reported by Bin ZHANG)
