The Sino-Danish Autumn School on Plasma Physics and Technology started on schedule, just like a new school year, in ASIPP, Hefei from 16th to 19th September. This is the fifth of its series, held annually in autumn from 2010, with Dr XU Guosheng, ASIPP and Prof V. Naulin, DTU as co-chairman.

Focused on “plasma physics theory and numerical simulation”, experts and scholars from ASIPP, DTU and USTC were invited to deliver this year’s lectures.

The 4 days’ lectures cover turbulent transport theory and simulation, boundary experiment phenomena, plasma diagnostics and plasma facing materials, and mechanical arm application in Tokamak.

As indicated by the students, they benefit much from the exchange and discussion.

Sino-Danish Autumn School aims to enhance cooperation between institutes and universities in the two countries, in order to accelerate magnetic confinement fusion research in both sides. Since establishment, it has been exposing young students and researchers to latest research progress in this field through academic reports based on Sino-Danish cooperation.(XI Yingkun reports)
