PST Impact Factor Climbs to 0.596

The Impact Factor of Plasma Science and Technology (PST), published by Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Science (ASIPP) climbs to a new high, 0.596 and the total critation number reaches 697, according to the Journl Citation Reports (JCR) of 2013 for 10297 journals all over the world released by Thomoson Reuters.

The Impact Factor (IF) is calculated by dividing the number of citations in the JCR year by the total number of articles published in the two previous years. The IF of PST kept increasing steadily, although the number of the published papers per year increased by a factor of 1.6 in 2012,since PST had changed its publishing frequency from bimonthly to monthly in 2012.

As the only one SCI journal focused on plasma physics in China, PST has attracted more and more attentions from the scientists all over the world. About 30% of the articles were submitted by oversea authors and more than 56% of them were reviewed by referees abroad.

Thanks to the contribution of editorial board members, authors, referees and readers, and the cooperation with IOP Publishing, the influence and reputation of PST are promoted year by year. The journal ranked continuously to "The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China" in 2012 and 2013. (LI Fen reports)
