To see the real tokamak? That’s probably not realistic for most people. However, the good news is that they are now able to know what tokamak looks like by looking at tokamak model in the 1st Summer Science Exhibition of China in Beijing, organized by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).

The exhibition is to display recent cutting-edge research projects, and to build a high-level platform for science education. Invited by CAST, the multimedia model of ASIPP EAST Tokamak was exhibited during the Exhibition from 12th to 18th July, one of exhibit highlights.

Since the exhibition invitation in March, every effort has been made to ensure the best exhibition effect. The booth design, panel content, volunteer narration were well organized and carefully planned. As a result, EAST model attracted broad attention.

Zhao Peng and Lu Xiaofei, two Ph.D volunteers from ASIPP, worked in the exhibition as  narrators to publicize tokamak and fusion knowledge. During the week they received tens of thousands of visitors, explaining EAST Project, tokamak and fusion energy in simple words to make it easy for non-professional people to understand.

ASIPP has always attached great importance to science publicity. EAST tokamak alone welcomes more than ten thousand of visitors from all walks of life every year. (XI Yingkun reports)
