Seminar Series to Better Understand of New EAST Experimental Physics

EAST begins to achieve plasma discharges and H-mode, despite all the technical challenges. With the addition of RMP, NBI, LHCD, and diagnostics and other major upgrades, ASIPP scientists have a lot the newly-out-of-oven experiment data to analyze and understand, so a series of EAST experimental physics seminars will be organized.  

The first seminar was held at July 18^th on “Preliminary RMP experiment on EAST tokamak”. Several reports on experimental data analysis and theoretical understanding of the RMP experiment were given, triggering a broad discussion.     

The series seminar will be held every week. What is exciting about the seminars is that it will be a stage for the budding researchers of 80s and 90s, who voluntarily share their understanding of the physical phenomena they observe.  

The next one will be focused on “‘NBI Heating and H-mode”. (Yang Ying reports)
