EAST begins to achieve plasma discharges and H-mode, despite all the technical challenges. With the addition of RMP, NBI, LHCD, and diagnostics and other major upgrades, ASIPP scientists have a lot the newly-out-of-oven experiment data to analyze and understand, so a series of EAST experimental physics seminars will be organized.

The first seminar was held at July 18th on “Preliminary RMP experiment on EAST tokamak”. Several reports on experimental data analysis and theoretical understanding of the RMP experiment were given, triggering a broad discussion.

The series seminar will be held every week. What is exciting about the seminars is that it will be a stage for the budding researchers of 80s and 90s, who voluntarily share their understanding of the physical phenomena they observe.

The next one will be focused on “‘NBI Heating and H-mode”. (Yang Ying reports)
