The 7th China-Denmark Bilateral Nanotechnology Meeting was held in Huangshan from April 15 to 19. This meeting was co-organized by Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) and Institute of plasma physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP).
About 60 people attended the meeting. 20 of the attendees were from Nano-Science Center & Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, while 40 of them were from ICCAS, Peking University, National Center for Nanoscience and Technolgy, Nanyang Technological University, Northeast Normal University, and ASIPP.
In the opening session, Prof. Xiangke Wang from ASIPP warmly welcomed all the participants and introduced the major achievements of ASIPP’s recent research. After that, Prof. Thomas Bjørnholm, Vice-Chancellor of University of Copenhagen reviewed the progress of this project, and then introduced the plan for the next period.
There were altogether 25 invited talks and 20 oral talks in the three-day meeting. Participants discussed with each other and exchanged their ideas extensively on the preparation, properties, and applications of nano-materials, as well as other related problems in different areas.
This meeting strengthens the cooperation and exchange between domestic and overseas nano academic circles, and also promotes further development and innovation of nano science and technology.
The first China-Denmark bilateral nano science and technology meeting was held in 2006. The meeting is hosted in turn by China and Denmark and 7 sessions so far have been successfully held. The next one will be held in Denmark in 2014. (Wang Ying reports)
