2012 Work Conference of Power Supply Group of ASIPP on ITER PF Converters and PPEN was held on January 7th. More than 50 scientists and technicians attended the meeting chaired by Prof. Fu Peng.
The conference began with an inspirational speech by Prof. Fu Peng, in which he reviewed the progress achieved throughout the past year and delivered his wish for a full harvest in the year to come.
The past year has witnessed great research achievements obtained on ITER Power Projects, including the completion of preliminary design reviews and acceptance work of “973 program”, the fulfillment of the technical service contract of the In-Vessel Coil Power Supply, and the successful installation and commissioning of test platform. The digestion, analysis, transition and integration of Pulse Power Electronic Network (PPEN) have also been undertaken with full effort. Moreover, quality management has progressed significantly, winning the department acclaim from IO.
At the meeting, principal investigators of each research group (Dr. Gao Ge, Dr. Xu Liuwei, Dr. Huang Yiyun and Dr. Song Zhiquan) presented reports on their research design, work process and achievements during last year, followed by a further discussion on difficulties during the research. The discussion finally concluded with realistic ideas and creative solutions put forward by the attendees.
According to Prof Fu, the power supply team, with new challenges and opportunities ahead, will push forward and fight together for better results. (Wang Guohe reports)
