A group of experts met on Saturday, Nov. 17 to review the Pulse Power Electronic Network (PPEN) Preliminary Design at ASIPP; Mr Luo Delong, deputy director of ITER China (CN DA) also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, ASIPP scientists reported their work on task design, analysis and fulfillment, especially on the digestion, analysis, transition and integration of Preliminary Design (PD) data, as well as analysis of technical support in different stages. Given the unique characteristics of PPEN, the experts pointed out the technical problems it may cause in future, and gave valuable suggestions. They suggested that the test of PPEN final design be combined with current manufacturing level; more attention should be paid to differences between European RTE standards and Chinese ones; they also emphasized the importance of overwatching manufacturers’ quality management.

ITER Power supply procurement package (PA) is the biggest PA contract signed between ITER IO and CN DA. According to the contract, China will complete ITER PPEN construction, transportation and commissioning in the next few years. (Wang Guohe reports)
