"We do feel that the serial symposium is getting better and better” said Xiang Nong, head of ASIPP theory division, at the Basic Theory of Plasma Symposium. It was held from June 14th to 16th; more than 50 participants from Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Dalian University of Technology and ASIPP attended this meeting.

During the symposium, altogether 19 oral presentations are given. After each presentation, experienced professors gave valuable advice. All the participants exchanged ideas and experiences on frontier researches such as plasma simulation and integrating modeling, wave heating and current drive, MHD theory, turbulence transport, H-mode and edge plasma.

"We have learned a lot,” said Mr Zhang Debin, a USTC student, at the end of the symposium, “and have got new ideas from colleagues from other institutions.” (Zhao Dan Reports)
