French S&T Consul at Shanghai: a Scientific tour to ASIPP

Feb.9th, silver snow dancing in the sky, a long-time-no-see, pleasant scene. In such a poetical day, French Science and Technology Consul Mr. Jean-Jacques PIERRAT and Economic counselor Francois BLANC visited ASIPP. They’re warmly welcomed by Ms. Shaohua DONG, vice-head of Administration Office.

　  It’s the first time for the French guests to have a close contact with EAST tokamak. They showed great interesting in the device. When listening to Ms. Dong’s introduction about fusion research, Mr. Pierrat couldn’t help asking questions about EAST Tokamak and ITER program. They visited ITER CICC hall, and toured the Solar Energy Materials & Engineering Lab and had exchanged with Prof Dai Songyuan, Chief Scientists of solar cell project.

　  Before leaving, they thanked again for ASIPP’s reception and expressed their feeling about this scientific tour on EAST: “Impressing” and “Walking in the snow is sort of romantic.” (Wang Yuan Reports）
