ASIPP: Review of 2011

At the time of ringing in the New Year, ASIPP reviewed the achievements made in the past year. According to director Prof. Li Jiangang’s report, ASIPP has achieved an all-round development in 2011: the first wall of EAST in-vessel components has been changed to molybdenum (Mo) tiles; EAST auxiliary heating system project launched, signifying EAST tokamak has entered into a new upstage stage of “Phase-II”; the first made-in-China product for ITER Project is ready to be shipped to Japan; The biggest CN ITER PA Contract settled down in ASIPP and the EAST-NBI project has achieved its milestone objective etc.

  
The achievement made by ASIPP has won recognition of central government officials, China Vice President Xi Jinping inspected EAST Superconducting Tokamak in early April, commending ASIPP staff and their outstanding work.

  
In his report, Prof Li brings forward the 2012 work goals, among which are obtainment of first-class plasma parameters on EAST to accelerate the realization of EAST overall scientific mission; implementation of ITER PA tasks and domestic related research projects on schedule; startup of reactor key technology researches, and so on.(Wang Yuan Reports)
