Biggest CN ITER PA Contract

The Contract of ITER Convertor Power System Design and Domestic Integration, the biggest CN ITER contract, was signed between ITER Domestic Agency (ITER DA) and ASIPP in Beijing on the Dec. 21 afternoon at the signing ceremony hosted by ITER DA Chief Inspector Prof Pan Chuanhong.

The Contract of ITER Convertor Power System Design and Domestic Integration, the biggest CN ITER contract, was signed between ITER Domestic Agency (ITER DA) and ASIPP in Beijing on the Dec. Representing the two sides, ASIPP director Li Jiangang and ITER DA deputy director Luo Delong signed the contract. Subsequently, Mr Luo gave a passionate speech, thanking ASIPP for its efforts to the construction of national scientific projects, and having great expectations of this ITER DA and ASIPP cooperation. Director Li echoed that ASIPP has confidence in accomplishing the tasks with high quality, and thanked ITER DA for their trust and support.

　  The convertor power system is one of the important sub-systems for ITER Tokamak. After acquiring 66kV AC voltage from pulse power net, it provides controllable DC voltage for the superconducting coil. It provides the necessary engineering foundation and control method for plasma generation, constraint, maintaining, heating, and that of plasma current, position, shape, distribution and breakdown. It will play a vital role for safe operation and good experiment.

　   Background:

　  During the past years, with the support from National Basic Research Program (973 Program) and special fund of ITER program, ASIPP made significant progress on analyzing, pre-designing and developing of convertor power system. Led by vice-director Fu Peng, ASIPP power supply team redesigned the poloidal field power supply, which has been approved and accepted by ITER IO. All of these laid a strong basis for the designing of new ITER convertor system, as well as the development of model equipment and future domestic integrating work.
