ASIPP has stranded the first ITER correction coils (CC) dumbing cable under the witness of Mr. Dennis Bessette from ITER IO and Dr. Li Hongwei from ITER DA. This means ASIPP is ready to produce superconductive conductor for CC coils in near future.

According to the requirement of ITER IO, the stranding process for cables should be tested qualified before going to the real production. In last November, after nearly two years tests and experiments the first short sample of superconducting cable passed the test with good performance in Swiss Sultan Lab.

This year, ASIPP need to accomplish the task of manufacturing dumbing cables of 916 meters. This success boosts ASIPP’s confidence to accomplish the task on schedule. (Chen Lei Reports)
