Graphene nonomaterials are Synthesized to Clean Pollutants

count: [2011-12-19] [Close]

The research scientists in Applied Plasma Division, ASIPP, prepared few-layered graphene by using low temperature plasma technique and applied these functional graphene materials in environmental pollution cleanup. Compared to the conventional methods, plasma grafting technique is simple, without chemical pollutant or altering the material bulk properties, and so on.

High dispersed graphene nanomaterials are synthesized and the materials show the highest sorption capacity in the removal of organic and inorganic pollutants from large volumes of aqueous solutions. In order to separate the materials easily and in large scale in real work, iron magnetic oxides are deposited on graphenes and the synthesized magnetic composites show high magnetic properties.
