Coordination Meeting on The Procurement Package of AC/DC Converters, Reactive Power Compensation and Harmonic Filters Successfully Held in ASIPP

On January 12th, 2009 the Coordination Meeting on The Procurement Package of AC/DC Converters, Reactive Power Compensation and Harmonic Filters was successfully held in ASIPP. Dr. Kim Yong Hwan, Dr. Ivone Benfatto, Dr. Tao Jun and Dr. Ashok Mankani from CEP Department of ITER Organization attended this meeting. Presided over by Prof Fu Peng, Vice Director of ASIPP, the Opening Session began with a welcome speech, given by Prof Li Jiangang, Director of ASIPP.

The main subjects of this meeting are: the work progress of IETR power rectifier, reactive power compensation device and harmonic filters procurement package, the key technologies, and procurement package plan. As the Division Head of CEP Department, Dr. Kim introduced the design criteria and request for the coil power of superconducting of ITER. Dr. Ivone Benfatto gave a speech about the work task for the next stage. Prof Fu Peng and Dr. Gao Ge from ASIPP reported 2008 performance of China power supply working group as well as the 2009 working plan. All the participants have discussed in depth with each other in this meeting.

After the meeting, accompanied by Prof Li Jiangang Dr. Kim and other members of ITER CEP Department visited EAST devices and its cryogenic system.(Wang Yuan reports)
