343 Abstract Received for PSI17, Abstract Deadline Extended

As of Dec. 10, 2005, the deadline for abstract submission, altogether 343 abstracts have been received for the next International Conference on Plasma Surface Interactions in Controlled Fusion Devices (PSI17), be held from May 22 -26, 2006 in Hefei, China. Prof Jiangang LI, the Chairman of the Program Committee, is very satisfied with this number, and expressed his appreciation for this wide interest from all over the world in the PSI conference. He said that he is confident of the success of PSI17 conference, as the input of participants would be　"one of a decisive factors" leading to its success.　

Prof. Xiang GAO, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced Monday, Dec. 12 that the LOC has decided to extend the deadline for abstract submission to December 15, 2006, due to the now and then abnormal operation of the webserver before the original deadline, and he expects to receive a few more abstracts in the extended time.
